MAYFAIR, MYRTLEVILLE AND WYNDHAM HILLS REAL ESTSATE FOR SALE
The neighbourhood of Myrtleville gets is names sake from the Myrtleville House which is an historic residence that was built in 1837 and was the home of four generations of the Good family. The two-storey home was built on a site on current day Myrtleville Drive in the north-west section of the City of Brantford after the family moved to Canada from Cork, Ireland.
Myrtleville House was named after a house in Ireland with the same name, which was surrounded by myrtle bushes. This species of plant is not native to this area, however the family wanted to name the home here as a reminder of their former property in Ireland.
Mayfair Gardens, an area which is located adjacent and south of Myrtleville was developed in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. This neighbourhood which is situated north of King George Road has a variety of styles of homes. The earlier houses built in this area are largely one storey residences of brick construction with approximately 1000 to 1200 f2 of main floor living space. A later development brought many styles of modern raised ranches, split level residences as well as two storey homes.
Mayfair, Myrtleville as well as Wyndham Hills are conveniently located near the food chain corridor on King George Road which is heavily populated with restaurant chains, grocery stores and the Walmart Plaza.
