Mt. Pleasant, Ontario is situated approximately 15 minutes south of Brantford and is a small Hamlet with a rich history. The main intersection in Mt. Pleasant is located at Burtch Road where the stately The Windmill Country Market which attracts locals, tourists and cyclist during the warmer months. sits on the West corner. Devlin’s Country Bistro and Catering which is well known for it’s upscale cuisine where you can enjoy an intimate dinner or lunch in a quiet converted home. This landmark sits on the East side of the intersection.
In recent years, new subdivisions with Executive style homes have popped which is attracting those who wish to live in a small village but still enjoy the high end finishes expected of an executive property.
Mt. Pleasant is part of Brant County (Brantford, Paris, Mt. Pleasant and Cainsville) which has an area of 71,122 acres of land and was founded in 1799. The area is home to many historical attractions and has been known as a cultural and prosperous area.
Home to the Mt. Pleasant Historical Walking Tour, you can still enjoy the sites of yesteryear by visiting the 1850 Neo-Gothic Octagon Shaped building which is currently the home of

The All Saints Anglican church was erected in 1845 by it’s own parishioners using locally forested lumber. This church stands a a landmark in the Village of Mt. Pleasant and is the oldest surviving church in the area.
Mt. Pleasant is known to be the site of the first live telegraph communication placed by Alexander Graham Bell from Brantford to the Wallace Ellis store located at 693 Mt. Pleasant Road.
The area is steeped in history and boasts a number of famous people including, Premier A. S, Hardy, Dr. Emily Stove and Dr. Augustus Stowe, Abraham Cooke a “local merchant prince” to just mention a few.
